I found no solution other than to go back to my backup disk image which I'm assuming you don't have. Just about ever update I do causes a new set of problems and this is just one of several. All I can suggest is to try downloading the ISO from the media tool all over again and making a new dvd in the hopes that it will make a difference.

I gave up, and changed boot mode to legacy just to test if that was the problem, and it was indeed. I was able to install windows 10 in legacy mode without any problem. I didn't know that once you install windows in legacy mode, you can change back to uefi mode, and windows will still boot.
